PUBG may be coming to PlayStation 4

Popular battle royalegame PUBG may soon launch on Sony’s PlayStation 4. The game that has built a huge fan base globally, can be played for free on the mobile platform. Until now, PUBG has been exclusive to Xbox One console, with a timed-exclusivity deal with Microsoft.

According to South Korean ratings board Game Rating and Administration Committee, PUBG is noted next to ‘PS4’. If that is true, it might be the end of Xbox One’s exclusivity to the game after the game debuted on the platform in December last year. Right now, PUBG is available on PC, Android, iOS and Xbox One.

Aim to expand to TV and films

PUBG Corp has been open to the idea of launching the game on as many platforms as possible. Naturally, it would mean more revenue for the company. Chang Han Kim, the CEO of PUBG Corp hopes for the game to be available on ‘every platform’. Also, the company is also aiming for PUBG to go beyond from being just a game to a ‘universal media franchise’ and expand to TV and films.

PS4 seems a natural next destination for the battle royale game. Sony’s console is the competitor of Xbox One and if PUBG lands on it, then it would expand the fan base of the game even further.

PUBG will be seeing a new massive update soon and that includes the addition of a new gun called the QBU DMR which will replace the Mini14. The new gun uses 5.56mm bullets and will be found in the Sanhok map. Along with the new gun, the game will also add a new vehicle which is a Rony pickup truck. It will also be available in the Sanhok map. Besides the addition of a new gun and a new vehicle, the game will be updated with various weapon and vehicular improvements

Battlegrounds has taken the world by storm with its battle royale style of gamingin which a large number of players parachute onto an island and then try to survive for the longest time possible. With your weapons, gear and other supplies, the aim is to kill before getting killed in a tense gaming environment where the last one standing is the winner and gets ‘chicken dinner’, which stands for victory.

In view of the other battle royale games’ like Fortnite’s soaring popularity, Tencent Games, the developer of PUBG, has decided to roll out new updates for the game to counter the competition. One of them is the addition of a new gunand various vehicle and related improvements to the game.

Here’s how this new PUBG update will change the way you shoot and drive

The new gun in PUBG

Preferred guns in PUBG vary from player to player. Some are fans of SCAR-L, some like sniping with the VSS, while others prefer the damage of UMP9. The latest update will add a new weapon called the QBU DMR. The gun uses 5.56mm rounds and will be found in the Sanhok map. It replaces the Mini14.

Weapon improvements

If we focus on the way players shoot in the game, there have been introduced some changes. When the player is in a crouching or prone position, the bullet spread accuracy bonus from hip fire will now be reduced a little. Similarly, when in stationary position, it will be increased a tad.

While guns that use 5.56mm bullets like QBZ and QBU now come with new magazine attachment models, UMP9, Vector and SLR have been provided with new 4X scope crosshair designs. Also, both AKM’s vertical and horizontal recoil have been reduced. Certain attachments now come with a reduced spread accuracy bonus and using Light Grips now enhances recoil recovery and stability.

Efforts have been made to make the recoil animation when firing look more real. An improvement in the reloading animations of some weapons has been made (in both FPP and TPP).

The new vehicle in PUBG

A Rony pickup truck has been added to the game. The pickup truck will be available in the Sanhok map.

Other improvements

A random music play feature in vehicles has been added which can be turned off in vehicle settings. The engine sound effects of UAZ and Buggy vehicles have also gotten remastered. In FPP (First Person Perspective), driver and passenger views have been added with improved vehicle interiors.

In vehicle driving mode 1 and 2, a brake button has been added. Characters can now stand up when the motorcycle is airborne. Also, the sound effects of Dacia vehicle have been adjusted to make it sound similar to how it sounds in original PUBG.
