The Xiaomi Mi A3 is the successor to the Mi A2 that launched in 2018. Being an A-series smartphone from Xiaomi, it comes with the Android One program.
Display
The Xiaomi Mi A3 has a 6.3-inch display, which features IPS LCD technology, and Full HD+ resolution. The screen has thin bezels around it, and there is a teardrop notch at the top for the front-facing camera. The display also features Gorilla Glass 5 protection. FYI, this is the same display that s in the Redmi Note 7 Pro.
Camera
The A-series smartphones from Xiaomi are quite popular for their camera performance, and the Mi A3 is no different. It features a 48MP + 5MP dual-camera. It is the same camera setup that we have seen in the Redmi Note 7 Pro. According to Xiaomi, the 48MP camera sensor combines information from four pixels into one, to offer a better lowlight image performance. The rear camera setup can record 4K videos. For selfies, the Mi A3 has a 16MP camera.
Hardware and Software
The A-series smartphones from Xiaomi are also famous for packing a powerful chipset for their price. The Mi A3 continues that trend. It features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 SoC, which is built on the 12nm manufacturing process. The chipset has eight CPU cores and Adreno 616 GPU. This variant of the Mi A3 has4GB of RAM and 64GB storage. There are also two other configurations on offer. As I mentioned earlier, the Mi A3 is an Android One smartphone, meaning that it comes with stock Android OS, and receives all the updates under Google s guidance. Speaking of updates, Android One smartphones are known for receiving faster software updates compared to other smartphones.
Battery and Connectivity
The Xiaomi Mi A1 and the Xiaomi Mi A2 were criticized for having a smaller battery capacity. Well, Xiaomi has taken the feedback and has implemented the Mi A3 with a larger, 4000mAh battery unit. The Mi A3, just like its predecessor, supports 18W fast charging over Quick Charge 4+ and USB-PD standards. The Mi A3 feature-rich when it comes to connectivity. The device offers dual-SIM with dual-VoLTE, dual-band Wi-Fi ac, Bluetooth v5.0, infrared emitter, GPS, and a USB Type-C port. Unfortunately, there is no 3.5mm audio jack. However, the device comes with a USB Type-C to 3.5mm adapter in the box.
